At the EIKE Conference in Halle (Germany), Willie Soon and Ronan Connolly from the CERES Team met with recently fired Danish physicist Henrik Svensmark for a wide-ranging discussion about his research into the relationship between solar activity, cosmic rays, clouds and climate. The cosmic-ray mechanism he proposes deserves to be investigated on its physical merits rather than dismissed because it does not fit comfortably into existing climate-model frameworks.

Le mécanisme des rayons cosmiques qu'il propose mérite d'être étudié sur le fond plutôt que d'être rejeté sous prétexte qu'il ne s'intègre pas facilement aux modèles climatiques actuels.

Auf der EIKE-Konferenz in Halle trafen Willie Soon und Ronan Connolly vom CERES-Team mit dem kürzlich entlassenen dänischen Physiker Henrik Svensmark zu einem ausführlichen Gespräch über seine Forschung zum Zusammenhang zwischen Sonnenaktivität, kosmischer Strahlung, Wolken und Klima zusammen. Der von ihm vorgeschlagene Mechanismus der kosmischen Strahlung verdient es, aufgrund seiner physikalischen Qualitäten untersucht zu werden, anstatt ihn zu verwerfen, nur weil er sich nicht nahtlos in bestehende Klimamodelle einfügt.
